Hedging means holding positions that offset each other, such as a buy and a sell on the same pair, or positions on correlated pairs.
Costs.
Hedged positions still pay spread and swap on both sides. It locks a loss rather than removing it.
Prop firm rules.
Many firms prohibit hedging across separate accounts or with other traders because it can exploit the evaluation rather than show skill. Always read the rules page before trying it.
