How Much Do Funded Traders Actually Make?

Real reward figures from our own ledger, the maths behind a monthly income on a funded account, and why the honest number is smaller than the ads suggest.

Funded trader earnings

Start with real numbers

Every reward MixFunded has paid is published with its transaction ID on the reward ledger, so these are checkable rather than promotional. Individual payments range from a few hundred dollars to five figures, and the traders on our leaderboard โ€” everyone who has taken $5,000 or more in total rewards โ€” got there over months, not weeks.

The maths of a monthly income

What a funded trader earns is three numbers multiplied together:

Account size x monthly return x profit split

A few realistic examples at an 80% split:

Account2% month5% month
$10,000$160$400
$50,000$800$2,000
$100,000$1,600$4,000

A consistent 5% a month is very good trading. Most people who try for 20% a month meet the maximum drawdown instead.

Why the honest figure is lower than advertised

Three reasons the headline numbers you see online rarely arrive:

  1. Drawdown limits cap size. A 4% daily limit means position sizes that make 20% months usually also make account-ending days.
  2. Returns are not smooth. A trader averaging 3% a month has losing months. Income from trading arrives in lumps.
  3. Scaling takes time. Bigger accounts come from a track record. Our scaling plan explains how account size grows from consistent results rather than from a single good week.

What actually separates the traders who get paid

Looking at our own funded accounts, the traders taking regular rewards share very boring habits: small fixed risk per trade, a handful of instruments, and no attempt to hit the profit target quickly. They also request rewards regularly instead of letting a balance ride until a drawdown takes it.

Position sizing for prop accounts and a one-page trading plan are the two pieces of that worth copying.

If you want to test the maths yourself

Take a Pay After Passing evaluation from $5, trade the size you would actually trade on a funded account, and see what your real monthly return looks like before you count any income from it. See the programs โ€” and check the ledger for what gets paid when people get it right.
