A good till canceled order remains working across sessions instead of expiring at the end of the day.
Expiry types in MT5.
- GTC: active until filled or cancelled.
- Today: expires at the end of the trading day.
- Specified: expires at a time you set.
- Specified day: expires at the end of a chosen date.
The risk.
Forgotten pending orders can trigger days later, during news or after a weekend gap. Review pending orders daily, especially on accounts with drawdown limits.
